Policy Statement
IBC Tanks Recycling is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our operations and maximizing the environmental benefit of the services we provide. We recognize that the industrial container supply chain generates significant waste, consumes natural resources, and contributes to carbon emissions — and we are determined to be part of the solution.
This environmental policy governs all aspects of our business: how we source, process, and sell IBC tanks; how we operate our facility; how we transport containers; and how we interact with our customers, suppliers, and community.
1. Zero Landfill Commitment
- ✓No IBC tank materials will be sent to landfill from our facility.
- ✓Every component — HDPE, steel, wood, hardware — will be reused, recycled, or repurposed.
- ✓We track and report our landfill diversion rate monthly, targeting 100% diversion.
- ✓When a new waste stream is identified, we develop a diversion plan within 30 days.
2. Reuse-First Hierarchy
- ✓We always evaluate tanks for reuse and reconditioning before recycling.
- ✓Our processing hierarchy is: reuse as-is > recondition > repurpose > material recycle > energy recovery.
- ✓Disposal (destruction) is authorized only when all other options are exhausted or regulatory requirements mandate it.
3. Water Conservation
- ✓Our cleaning operations use a closed-loop water reclamation system.
- ✓Target: 70% water reduction vs. industry-standard open-loop cleaning.
- ✓Wash water is treated, filtered, and recycled through our system.
- ✓Chemical cleaning agents are selected for biodegradability and minimal water impact.
4. Carbon Emissions Reduction
- ✓We calculate and report the carbon savings of every tank we recondition vs. manufacturing new.
- ✓Fleet routing software optimizes pickup/delivery routes to minimize transport miles.
- ✓Stackable load configurations reduce per-tank transport emissions by 30-40%.
- ✓We are evaluating alternative fuel and electric vehicle options for our delivery fleet.
5. Continuous Improvement
- ✓We review this policy annually and update targets based on previous year performance.
- ✓All employees receive environmental awareness training during onboarding and annually.
- ✓We track key environmental metrics: tanks diverted, materials recycled, water consumed, carbon saved.
- ✓Customer feedback on environmental performance is actively solicited and acted upon.
