What Is a Reconditioned IBC Tank?
A reconditioned IBC tank is a used container that has been professionally restored to like-new condition. Our reconditioning process goes far beyond simple cleaning — it involves a complete disassembly, thorough inspection of every component, replacement of worn parts, food-grade or industrial cleaning, and reassembly with updated certification marks.
The result is a container that performs like new at 40-60% of the cost — with the added benefit of keeping a perfectly good tank out of the waste stream. Reconditioned IBC tanks are ideal for businesses that need reliable, certified containers but want to reduce their environmental footprint and procurement costs.
Our Reconditioning Process
Intake & Assessment
Every tank is logged, photographed, and assessed. We record the previous contents, inspect for damage, and determine whether the tank qualifies for reconditioning or must be recycled.
Disassembly
We separate the HDPE bottle from the steel cage and remove all valves, gaskets, lids, and hardware. Each component is inspected individually against our quality thresholds.
Triple-Rinse Cleaning
The HDPE bottle undergoes a triple-rinse process with hot water, detergent wash, and final sanitization. For food-grade tanks, we use FDA-approved cleaning agents and verify residue levels.
Cage Repair & Treatment
Bent bars are straightened or replaced. Surface rust is removed by wire brushing and the cage is treated with anti-corrosion coating. All welds are inspected for integrity.
Component Replacement
Worn valves, gaskets, and lids are replaced with new OEM-equivalent parts. We do not reuse hardware that fails our inspection — period.
Reassembly & Certification
The restored bottle is remounted into the cage, new labels are applied, and the tank receives updated UN markings if it passes our highest-tier inspection protocol.
