Why IBC Recycling Matters
A single standard 275-gallon IBC tank contains approximately 130 pounds of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic and 70 pounds of galvanized steel in its cage frame. Manufacturing a new one requires extracting and processing petroleum for the HDPE, mining and smelting ore for the steel, and transporting raw materials thousands of miles — all before the tank reaches its first customer.
When that tank is discarded after a single use, all of that embodied energy, water, and carbon is wasted. By reconditioning and reselling used IBC tanks, we prevent this waste and reduce the demand for virgin materials. Our data shows that a single reconditioned IBC tank saves an estimated 85 kg of CO2 emissions compared to manufacturing a new one.
Even at end-of-life, responsible recycling recovers the HDPE and steel for use in other products, ensuring that the materials never reach a landfill. Our facility separates every component — plastic bottle, steel cage, wooden pallet, valve hardware — and routes each to the appropriate recycling stream.
Zero Landfill Policy
We are committed to sending zero IBC tank materials to landfill. Every component of every container we receive is either reused, recycled, or repurposed. We track our diversion rate monthly and publish it on our website.
Water Conservation
Our cleaning process uses a closed-loop water reclamation system that recycles wash water through filtration and treatment. We use 70% less water per tank than industry-standard open-loop cleaning systems.
Carbon Footprint Reduction
We calculate the carbon savings of every tank we recondition versus manufacturing new. Our fleet routing software optimizes pickup and delivery routes to minimize transport emissions.
Circular Economy Leadership
We work with manufacturers and distributors to establish IBC take-back programs, creating predictable return loops that maximize reuse cycles and minimize waste generation at every stage of the supply chain.
